Welcome to the Coalition for Safe Families blog.
The Coalition for Safe Families is an ad hoc group consisting of concerned organizations and individuals who are committed to ensuring that West Virginia families and children remain safe.
The Coalition was formed in response to a radical legislative agenda that has been proposed in West Virginia by a group calling themselves Men and Women Against Discrimination (MAWAD).
In an effort that appears aimed at reducing child support obligations, MAWAD proposals would establish a one size fits all approach to child custody decisions and place children in danger by increasing the burden of proof for child abuse allegations.
The purpose of this blog is to provide up-to-date information about the Coalition for Safe Families and provide easy to access links to resources and other information for Coalition members.
If you are interested in joining the Coalition, please email safefamilieswv@gmail.com or submit a comment below.
The West Virginia Women’s Commission voted on January 8, 2008 to join with over twenty other organizations in forming the Coalition for Safe Families (CSF).
